ITSNJ Annual Awards

The awards recognize notable New Jersey projects, firms, programs, and individuals who have contributed 
substantially to the advancement of ITS technologies to improve surface transportation efficiency, safety, and 
mobility.

Awards are presented each year at the ITSNJ Annual Meeting. Each year the awards solicitation opens approximately 10 weeks in advance of the Annual Meeting, with all nominations received no later than 5-6 weeks, allowing time for the review committee to review and score all nominations.

Public Official, Professional, and Young Professional Awards selections will be evaluated using the following criterion: 

  • Notable Accomplishment
  • Excellence of Achievement
  • Contribution to ITS Community
  • Involvement with ITSNJ or other Professional Organizations

Outstanding Project/Program selections will be evaluated using the following criterion: 

  • Uniqueness/Originality/Innovation
  • Demonstrated Need
  • Social or Economic Sustainability
  • Future Value to the Engineering Profession and Perception by the Public

Hogan_HOFAwardHall of Fame

An individual who has contributed significantly to advancing ITS in New Jersey throughout his/her/their careers. This prestigious award is selected by the Executive Committee.

An elected or appointed official who has contributed significantly to advancing ITS in New Jersey.

Professional AwardITSNJ Professional

An individual who has advanced ITS significantly in New Jersey.
2020 ITS Professional Award: Kevin P. Hayes, PE

 

ITSNJYPAwardITSNJ Young Professional

An individual, 35 years of age or younger, who has advanced ITS in New Jersey.
2020 ITSNJ Young Professional Award: Farukh Ijaz, PE

 

Outstanding Project or Program

A project or program employing or advancing ITS technologies; including infrastructure, plans, research, management, or other significant innovation. The project must have been substantially completed, open to the public, or published within the past five years.
2020 Outstanding Project Award: "Data Analytics Ecosystem" - Port Authority of NY and NJ
2020 Project Honorable Mention: "Agency-wide Transportation Management Software Acquisition and Implementation" - PANYNJ in partnership with Kapsch North America
